Getting started
PayMeNow lets you accept card payments on your website with a single <script> tag — no Stripe account required to start.
1. Create your account
Go to the dashboard and enter your email. We send a 6-digit code. Verify it and you're in. On first signup we generate your API key and webhook secret automatically.
On your first sign-in the dashboard shows the Terms of Service full page. Select Accept and continue to use the dashboard. Payments for your account, including from embeds and partner integrations, are rejected until you accept. When a new terms version is published, you accept it again on your next sign-in.
2. Create a product (optional)
The recommended integration uses server-resolved prices. In the dashboard, create a product with a name, amount (in cents) and currency. You'll get a UUID product id.
If you don't want products you can also pass a raw amount — see Onboarding for the tradeoffs.
3. Embed the widget
Drop this on any page:
<div id="paymenow-form"
data-api-key="pmn_live_YOUR_KEY"
data-product-id="YOUR_PRODUCT_UUID">
</div>
<script src="https://paymenow.dev/embed/paymenow.js"></script>
That's it. The script injects a payment form and Stripe processes the card. Payments are routed to your connected Stripe account when card_payments is active; otherwise they are accepted on the PayMeNow platform and held until you manually transfer them from Payments.
See Embeds for fixed amounts, tip jars, carts, labels and colors.
If your Stripe account is not yet enabled for direct card payments, the payment is held by PayMeNow. Once Stripe is ready, select Review transfer in Payments, check the fees and net received amount, and confirm. See Payouts for details.
4. Watch payments come in
Head to Overview in the dashboard. You'll see your held balance, total earned, and a live list of payments as they succeed.
Payments → Payment history shows successful payments only. Unpaid or failed checkout attempts are not shown; creating a payment intent alone does not mean a payment has been received.
5. Test your products
Open Test to see every active product. Select Buy now for an individual payment using the product ID and server-resolved price, or Add to cart to include it in the shared cart. Repeated additions increase the quantity; quantities and removals are also available in the cart. A cart can contain only one currency at a time.
Test also replaces the former Demo view. Colors and context-appropriate action labels are randomized each time Test loads, including reloads and re-entry. They stay fixed while you use the page, and do not change prices or payment routing. Purchase and cart buttons may use equivalent wording such as Purchase or Add to basket.
Additional examples cover a tip jar with an editable amount, a raw USD 25 payment without a product ID, and a USD 10 payment requiring email. These examples remain available even without products. The Test-tab cart also requires a valid email and a delivery address before payment confirmation.
The Test tab uses your configured Stripe credentials; it does not force Stripe test mode. With live credentials, confirmed payments charge real money. Use a Stripe sandbox or test credentials for simulated payments.
